Stewardship

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (Matthew 6:19-21)

Annual Stewardship

A perusal of this website will indicate the myriad ministries that go on in our parish. The primary focus of all we do is to glorify God by glorifying His Son (John 6:28-29). Our tithes and offerings are a way that each of us can be an active participant in each of these ministries.

The clergy and lay leadership at St. Helena’s seek to hold up the authority of scripture in all that we do, including our giving. The tithe (10 percent) is the Biblical standard for giving. God intends our giving as a blessing to us. Through our tithes, God promises to pour out blessings on us all.

By transforming our hearts, God does not want our money—he wants our hearts! Giving draws our hearts toward God and gives us joy just as sin pushes us from God. By enriching our lives, whoever sows generously will also reap generously (2 Corinthians 9:6)! By changing lives through our generosity, God will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness (2 Corinthians 9:10)!

We do not intend to coerce our community to tithe. Each should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7). We intend only to share the promise of scripture! For more information, please contact Charley Webb at 524-2383.
