Nursery

Nursery
Our ministry to young children seeks to shower the delight and love of the Lord upon them. We want them and their families to know that they are welcome here, that they are safe here in God's house, and that we can be trusted to provide for them. Our nursery programs are for children from birth through K5.

We also offer care for young children during other events denoted as * (nursery available) or ** (nursery available by reservation). All nursery rooms are located on the first floor of Tyndale Hall. Nurseries may be reserved by calling 522-1712, ext. 220.

Ages birth through 12 months─"Noah’s Ark"

“Noah’s Ark” is a special program for babies, birth through 12 months of age. Our babies spend the morning with loving adults who rock, cuddle, and care for their every need. Our intention is that our little ones experience complete safety, happy times, unconditional love, and acceptance from their very first days in God’s house here at St. Helena’s.

One-year-olds─"Jesus Loves Me"

One-year-olds experience a fun time of play in different activity centers in their special room called “Jesus Loves Me.” Our staff lovingly demonstrates Christ’s love by meeting the children’s physical and emotional needs. The children also hear the stories of Jesus, using a curriculum designed especially for their age group.

Two-year-olds─"Jesus Loves Me, Two"

Our two-year-olds are excited to become the big kids as they move to their next classroom—“Jesus Loves Me, Two.” This room is designed for them to experience happy times in God’s house as they listen and respond to the stories of Jesus and His love.

Three-year-olds and four-year-olds─"Christ's Child"

Three-year-olds and four-year-olds join our “Christ’s Child” classroom. This room is designed with unique age-appropriate activities to further the goals of the children’s years spent in the other nursery programs. Using an interactive curriculum, children play games, dress up to tell Bible stories, make great crafts, and hear one of God’s special stories chosen to teach them of Jesus’ love.

Children's Chapel Worship Service
1st through 3rd Grades

In a specially-designed worship center at 10:15 a.m., children who have had their sixth birthday by September 1 of the school year learn through experience how God’s people stop their busy lives and gather together in His name to express their love for Him. This is a time of training children to worship God and includes music, fellowship, refreshments, and prayers. During the offertory, children join their families in the church at 10:45 a.m. to celebrate Holy Eucharist.

Sunday Evening Nursery
Beginning at 5:45 p.m. (all year)

During the 6 p.m. worship service, a nursery in the Parish Hall is offered for children of all ages. We provide age-appropriate activities for all ages. Please contact Rosalind Dixon at 522-1712, ext. 220.

Nursery Program on Wednesday Evenings (W.A.S.H.)
5:30 p.m. Supper

Following supper with their families, Wednesday evenings are set aside as a joyful time of fun, learning, and play for our babies and preschoolers while mom and dad attend their Bible studies.

In addition to a nursery for babies from birth to 12 months, our two-year-olds to four-year-olds have a special program designed to complement the elementary-age children’s program, complete with music, games, and activities. Our littlest ones have a special, happy place to play and unwind after their busy day with people who will love and sing to them of Jesus and His love.

At times it is necessary to ask for a reservation with one week’s notice. Look for the symbol **. If you would like to schedule a nursery to support a parish event, please fill out a nursery request form at least two weeks prior to the event. Forms are available at the church office.
